What a wild day one at Big Sky!
Riverbandits defeat Nox 3-2
Riverbandits pitcher Bo Guthrie (7 innings) and Nox pitcher Cody King (6 innings) went head-to-head in a pitching duel that ended with a walk off home run by Riverbandits first baseman Joe Sanzere.
Forkballers defeat Bison 24-7
Battle of the expansion teams ended in a 24-7 victory for the Forkballers. Forkballers had the extra-base hit count going as they tallied 6 doubles on the day. Will anyone top 24 this year?
Gladiators defeat Angels 4-3
In the rematch of last year’s championship series the Gladiators hosted the Angels on opening day. As always this was tight battle all the way. With some defensive miscues by the Gladiators the Angels would break the tie in the top of the 7th inning. Gladiators newest addition Caleb Woodward ropes a triple to center field off of Angels ace Chad Howard. After a balk would let the game tying cross the plate Shane Hoffman drives in Zach Ackerman for the second straight opening day walk off for the Gladiators.
